not this one, in order to get abilities, you need fo grt them from monsters, like Fire, Blizzard, Attack, and so forth. When the monsters level up, the abilities level up too, but if you make the monster extinct, then you lose all chance to get them.

How come in this title the monster won't re-spawn? all other ff monsters keep respawn if I remember it right. eariler titles random encounter really annoying.

They tie it into the story, because after the events of XIII-2, the chaos is seeping into the world and has completely destroyed about 95% of the world. So the "world" is only so big, and therefor, there can only be so many monsters on it. So for example there are only 30 behemoths.in the entire world, so once you killed all of them, they are extinct until new game+, and if you didn't get the skill you wanted, or didn't get enough to level them up to make them stronger, well tough, because there is no other way to get them.

so the game's setting assume monsters lost their ability to reproduction due to the disaster in FF13-2. And they are all living there for hundreds years, just wait for lightening to reappear and kill them to get their ability. That is some hilarious setting you ask me.

Well I'll need to beat it twice to platinum it, they still have trophies for beating super powerful optional bosses. Not to thrilled with that

Well, I might be able to beat this game today, but I really want to try to beat the optional bosses, not just because they are for trophies, but because I ran into one on accident and it completely destroyed me, and I need it dead, I crave revenge

Well I got the first superboss dead, but I think there is no feasable way for me to kill the other, so I'll be beating the game, and hoping new game will power me up the way I need to be. Of course I'll have to go all the way through the game again. But oh well, I'll just platinum it a little later :/
